AdSense Ad Placement Tips

In this lesson we will go over the layout for your pages and why they are a key part of your Adsense earnings.

With Adsense you can place up to 3 ad blocks on your web page. You will find different theories on whether or not it is most effective to have your ads blend in with or stand out from the content on your page. While some would say they have better results when the ads stand out, in my opinion it is best to try and make them blend in with the rest of the site as much as possible so that your visitors will see them as content rather than advertisements.

Search Engine Optimization seems at times to be suffering from a multiple personality disorder. On one hand it’s a set of technical skills for research, analysis and even coding. On the other you must morph into a wordsmith capable of not only crafting technically targeted prose but being engaging for the viewer as well. If that weren’t enough, these days you must be pro-active. Don’t wait for your ship to come in, swim out and get it. We are in the age of link building my friends.

Building a Targeted Link Network On a Budget

I’m sure many of you have spent time making dummy sites with the sole intention of having those sites link to your main site. For example, you may have a forum on Snowboarding, and in order to drive traffic to your main site, you create 60 sites about specific snowboarding niches, such “Colorado Snowboarding” or “Advanced Snowboarding Techniques” Each site links to 20 of the other sites, while the main navigation links on each site all point towards your main site. If the strategy is executed correctly, you now have 60 portals driving traffic to your site. If you’re main site already has PR, linking back to a handful of those sites is a good way to start passing the PR down the chain. (more…)
